End of Summer 2011
Summer session 2011 officially concluded on August 6 with commencement. Fittingly, students and families heard an address from Dennis Lockhart, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. This significant day in the lives of some 1,600 UGA students also marked the transition into the 2011-12 academic year and the fall semester. Starting this week we will welcome the 5,500 freshmen who have enrolled at UGA, the first to enjoy the First-Year Odyssey, an innovative academic program that will place every freshman in a small, seminar-style class with a tenured or tenure-track faculty member.
It’s an exciting time to be at UGA!
