The Administration Building located on North Campus served as the University of Georgia's library from 1905 -1952, and then later served as the Georgia Museum of Art, until it was renovated in 1998. The facility now serves as the home of the Office of the President, the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration, and the Office of the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations.

Jere W. Morehead became the University of Georgia's 22nd president on July 1, 2013, having previously served as UGA's senior vice president for academic affairs and provost since 2010.

President Morehead's career covers a wide range of faculty and administrative roles. Prior to 2010, he served UGA in several key administrative assignments, including vice president for instruction, vice provost for academic affairs, associate provost and director of the Honors Program, and acting executive director of legal affairs. From 2003 to 2010, he served as the University's Faculty Athletics Representative.

As UGA President, he also serves as chair of the Georgia Athletic Association Board of Directors, chair of the UGA Research Foundation, a UGA Foundation trustee and a UGA Real Estate Foundation trustee. He has been appointed to a one-year term on the Committee of Research Intensive Public Universities by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, and is included in Georgia Trend’s 2014 Most Influential list.

President Morehead is the Meigs Professor of Legal Studies in the Terry College of Business, where he has held a faculty appointment since 1986. He is a co-author of several books and book chapters, including The Legal and Regulatory Environment of Business, and he has published scholarly articles on legal topics ranging from export controls to jury selection. He has served as editor-in-chief of the American Business Law Journal and previously held several other editorial board positions with the ABLJ.

He directed the UGA Law School's Advocacy Program from 1986 to 1995 at a time when the moot court teams he coached won international, national, regional and state championships. In 1995, he served as a visiting professor of business law at the University of Michigan.

President Morehead has received several University-wide teaching awards, including the Josiah Meigs Award — UGA's highest honor for teaching excellence — the Richard B. Russell Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, the Teacher of the Year Award in the Terry College of Business, and the Lothar Tresp Outstanding Honors Professor Award.

Morehead is a native of Lakeland, Florida.  He moved with his family to Atlanta as a teenager, and enrolled at Georgia State University after graduating from high school at the age of 16. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1977.  He entered the University of Georgia School of Law in 1977, where he graduated with a juris doctor degree at the age of 23 in 1980.  After graduation, he served as an assistant United States attorney with the Department of Justice from 1980 to 1986. He is the first alumnus of UGA to be named president since Dr. Fred Davison in 1967.

As chief of staff, Dr. Pharr will provide counsel to Morehead and his staff, which will report through her to him. The directors of the university's Equal Opportunity Office, Internal Auditing Division and Office of Legal Affairs will report through her to the president. She will provide fiscal oversight of state and UGA Foundation accounts supporting the President's Office; will serve as liaison for special events held at the President's House; and will oversee house operations. She will serve as the liaison to various UGA Foundation boards and affiliated organizations as well as the University Council Executive Committee. She also will review and make recommendations related to appeals to the president, among many other duties.

Pharr joined UGA in August 1993 as director of communications and public relations for the School of Law. She served for three years as the president's liaison with the university's facilities and fundraising units and worked closely with the UGA Foundation Board of Trustees and the UGA Real Estate Foundation. Since 2004, she has served as assistant vice president for finance and administration, with oversight of the Health Sciences Campus added in 2011.

Prior to joining UGA, Pharr was a news reporter and anchor in Louisville, Kentucky, and Savannah. She holds three degrees from UGA: a bachelor's degree summa cum laude in journalism, a master's degree in public administration and a doctorate in higher education management.

Pharr has earned 10 Associated Press Awards and five awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, among other recognitions. In 1996, she received the Young Alumnus Award from the Georgia chapter of the Blue Key National Honor Society. Pharr is a campaign cabinet member for the United Way of Northeast Georgia and is active in church and school organizations.

Matthew M. Winston Jr. has served as Assistant to the President at the University of Georgia since October 2000. He oversees staff issues, student issues, athletics, auxiliary services and diversity issues for the president's office, serving as an advisor to and speechwriter for the president in these areas. Prior to joining the president's staff, Winston was the news bureau manager in UGA’s University Communications office. Winston served as the Acting Director for UGA’s Office of Institutional Diversity from 2005 – 2006.  Before coming to UGA, he spent eight years directing the news bureau at Virginia Tech, where he earned a bachelor of science in marketing management in 1990.

Winston currently serves as president of Virginia Tech’s Alumni Association Board of Directors and vice president of the Southern Regional Council.  He also serves as a board member of the Virginia Tech Foundation and an executive committee member of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce.  

Winston is a former member of the International Board of Trustees for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) representing District III, and he served as a member of that organization's Commission for Communications and Marketing from 2009-2011.  He also is a member of the CASE District III Board of Directors where he has served in a variety of roles including Secretary and Communications and Marketing Program Chair.

Winston has also served on the Ron Clark Academy Advisory Board, the Clarke County Mentor Program and LEAD Athens steering committees, the Clarke County Board of Education Multicultural Task Force, the University Relations committee of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Clarke County Neighborhood Relations Roundtable. He is a member of the Delta Psi Boule of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, National Residence Hall Honorary and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

The Virginia Beach, Va., native and his wife, Kimberly, live in Athens with their two children, Chloé and Marcus.
