Honors Week

by Jere W. Morehead, President

Honors Week, which runs from Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11, is, in my mind, the most important week of the academic year at the University of Georgia.  During Honors Week we celebrate the excellence of our students, faculty, staff and alumni as it relates to our mission to teach, to conduct research and to serve the state of Georgia, the nation and the world.  It is an important commitment by the University community to set aside time to focus on what we do well and to honor those who have excelled.

Honors Week also means that the end of the spring semester is near, and that Spring Commencement is approaching as well.  This is indeed an exciting time to be a part of the University of Georgia.  It is an honor to serve as President, and I hope that you will join us in some way next week as we recognize those who are helping to make the University of Georgia a great institution.
