Miracles at work

I am very proud of UGA Miracle, a student-led organization which raised more than $500,000 last weekend for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta through a Dance Marathon held in the Tate Student Center, exceeding the organizers’ goal by almost $100,000. More than 1,000 UGA students participated in the events.
UGA Miracle has raised more than $4 million over the past 18 years. One of the largest student-run philanthropic organizations at UGA, Miracle hosts fundraising events throughout the year including concerts, a 5K race, tours of Athens-area homes and smaller dance marathons at local schools.
It is also just one example of the many ways in which UGA students serve this community and the state by committing their time, energy and resources. They are indeed a force for good, and I am proud to be their President.
