On September 18, the University of Georgia celebrated the completion of Phase I of the Terry College’s new Business Learning Community by dedicating Correll Hall and breaking ground on Amos Hall and Phase II of the project. These state-of-the-art facilities are designed to elevate business education at UGA to a new level of excellence.
Supported entirely by private donations, Correll Hall is named in honor of a major gift made by A.D. “Pete” Correll (BBA ’63) and his wife, Ada Lee Correll (BSED ’63). The 74,000-square-foot facility houses the Terry College’s graduate programs and includes classrooms, team project rooms, a graduate commons, and a business innovation lab.
The University also broke ground on Amos Hall and Phase II of the Business Learning Community. This phase, supported by $43 million in funds from the state of Georgia and $14 million in private donations, is a great example of the role that public-private partnerships play in enhancing the institution’s learning environment.
Scheduled to open in fall 2017, Phase II of the Business Learning Community will feature two large auditoriums, eight classrooms, a trading room, a music business recording lab, and an undergraduate commons. Amos Hall, named in honor of a major gift by Dan Amos (BBA ’73), is the centerpiece of the second phase.
By elevating the academic experience of the next generation of business leaders, the Terry College’s Business Learning Community will further enable the University of Georgia to support the economic development of both the state and the nation.
