With gratitude to more than 70,000 donors, the University of Georgia is celebrating a record-setting fundraising year. In fiscal year 2024, UGA received more than $275 million for the first time in the institution’s history. This outstanding year of fundraising follows a sustained period of strong philanthropy. UGA’s three-year rolling average for fundraising—a key indicator of a positive culture of giving—stands at $258 million, an all-time high.

Our FY24 donations created 127 scholarships as well as 19 endowed faculty positions, bringing UGA’s total endowed scholarship funds to 2,262 and the number of faculty endowments to 375. Adding more endowed faculty positions and scholarships have been key priorities of mine and will remain so in the year ahead. Our alumni and friends also showed strong support for the new UGA School of Medicine—another critical priority of this institution. Since February, the University received nearly $37 million from donors, the UGA Foundation, and the UGA Research Foundation to help build a new 92,000-square-foot medical education and research facility.

I remain grateful to our donors, development and alumni relations staff, and the UGA Foundation Board of Trustees—all of whom made this significant accomplishment possible. With their support, we will continue to advance our missions to educate future leaders, advance scholarship that solves the world’s grand challenges, and serve our state’s most pressing needs.
