The University of Georgia continues to strengthen its reputation as a powerhouse in academics and athletics. Propelled by the hard work of our outstanding student-athletes and the dedication of our coaches and support staff, this certainly was a semester to remember for Bulldog Nation as we reached new heights of excellence on and off the field.
In April, the UGA equestrian team secured its eighth national championship, and Coach Meghan Boenig was elected to the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Hall of Fame. The women’s tennis team completed a historic season, winning the 2025 NCAA National Championship in Waco, Texas in May after securing the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Indoor National Championship in February. And, on the heels of the third SEC championship in program history, the women’s track and field team captured its first national outdoor title at the NCAA Championships earlier this month.
Our student-athletes also excelled in the classroom, posting an all-time high cumulative GPA for the Spring semester. Additionally, Abby McCulloh, NCAA champion and a seven-time All-American member of the swimming & diving team, was named the Southeastern Conference H. Boyd McWhorter Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
These remarkable accomplishments are a result of the tireless efforts of our student-athletes, as well as the vital support they receive from our faculty, staff, alumni, and friends. As we close the year on such a high note, I want to thank everyone for the role you have played in UGA’s tremendous success in both academics and athletics.
