At the University of Georgia, we are committed to reaching new heights in everything we do. Our innovative instruction, renowned faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities make us one of the best public universities in the nation.
UGA welcomed our largest first-year class in history when the 2022–2023 academic year began. The class of more than 6,200 students arrived with an average high school GPA of 4.12, an average ACT score of 32, and an average SAT score of 1384. They joined a thriving academic community ranked No. 16 in the nation among public universities by U.S. News & World Report. We recently came in at No. 10 among public universities and No. 2 for colleges with the best student life on lists published by Niche, while The Princeton Review gave UGA top scores on its lists of high-achieving public universities, including the No. 15 best school for internships. Forbes ranked the University of Georgia No. 21 on its list of top public universities, highlighting the value of a UGA degree and the success of our graduates.
While no single metric can capture all of UGA’s achievements, our sustained record of excellence — including seven consecutive years in the USNWR top 20 — reflects the University’s solid position in the upper ranks of public higher education. I am proud of all that our faculty, staff, students, and alumni are accomplishing in their efforts to become leaders in their fields and make a positive impact on the world.
