The University of Georgia is delighted to welcome thousands of alumni back to campus this week for Homecoming. This time-honored tradition gives us the opportunity to pay tribute to previous generations of UGA graduates who have made our institution such a special place and who continue to propel us to new heights of excellence.
For alumni attending the football game on Saturday, this will be a chance to see the recently completed renovations to Sanford Stadium, which are making it an even more exciting place to be on game days. Support of capital projects is one of the countless examples of the generosity and dedication shown by UGA alumni throughout the year. They also transform our students’ lives through mentoring and scholarships, fuel research discoveries through endowed professorships, and play a vital role in advancing UGA’s mission in so many other ways.
While the buildings on campus may change over the years, the University of Georgia will always be defined by our commitment to educating the next generation of leaders and improving the quality of life in our state and beyond. I look forward to cheering on the Dawgs this weekend and celebrating the positive impact of UGA on the lives of our students and alumni.
