Honors Week at the University of Georgia is a long-standing tradition dedicated to celebrating academic achievement, leadership, research, and service across our campus. Established to recognize individuals who exemplify the university’s highest ideals, this week features a series of events that truly reflect the breadth of our vital land-grant and sea-grant mission.

Since Honors Week began in the 1930s, the University has set aside time each spring to recognize excellence in the UGA community. Throughout the week, we celebrate students who have distinguished themselves through academic rigor and extracurricular involvement; faculty who have adopted innovative teaching methods and are pursuing groundbreaking research; staff who work tirelessly to support a wide range of initiatives on campus and in communities; and alumni and friends who continue to propel the University forward as a result of their exceptional generosity. Together, they represent the very best aspects of the University of Georgia.

As we gather each year, I am grateful to serve alongside so many inspiring individuals. Honors Week provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on and highlight the extraordinary impact that members of the University of Georgia are making on our state, across the nation, and around the world.
