Following the conclusion of another outstanding academic year, I want to thank all our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends for continuing to make the University of Georgia one of the best public institutions in the nation. Each and every day, we are working together to advance our vital land-grant and sea-grant mission and expand UGA’s positive impact on our state, nation, and world.
These are just some of the University of Georgia’s many achievements this year:
- The UGA School of Medicine reached a number of significant milestones as we move closer to securing accreditation and recruiting the inaugural class of medical students.
- UGA ranked in the top 20 among public universities for the ninth consecutive year in U.S. News & World Report.
- Our students earned many of the most prestigious scholarships, including two Goldwater Scholars, a record-setting three Schwarzman Scholars, and the University’s 23rd Truman Scholar
- Enrollment reached an all-time high of more than 43,100 students.
- UGA had a record-high four-year completion rate of 76% and six-year completion rate of 90%, making UGA one of nine public universities in the nation with a 90% six-year graduation rate.
- Research expenditures rose to a record $628 million — a 77% increase over the past decade.
- Donors helped UGA achieve another record-breaking Dawg Day of Giving and fueled progress in every corner of campus.
I am constantly inspired by how much we can accomplish together, and I am excited to see what the next academic year has in store for the University of Georgia. Thank you again for your tireless efforts as we continue our pursuit of excellence in all that we do.
