Since the 1930s, the University of Georgia has set aside a special time each year to recognize the achievements of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Now known as Honors Week, this annual tradition provides a valuable opportunity to celebrate individuals who are helping UGA fulfill its mission through their unyielding pursuit of excellence.

We began the week honoring faculty, staff, and students who have demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to UGA’s role in public service and outreach. We also celebrated teaching excellence among our world-class faculty this week and recognized outstanding students such as those who have won prestigious scholarships or who will graduate with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Faculty also received awards for their achievements in research as they seek to solve the complex challenges facing our world. And we conclude the week celebrating our loyal and generous alumni whose contributions are helping to secure the long-term success of UGA.

As we look back on another Honors Week at the University of Georgia, I am once again inspired by the many ways in which members of the UGA family are improving lives and changing the world for the better.
