The University of Georgia continues to experience unprecedented momentum, fueling success in every corner of our campus. During fiscal year 2025, UGA surpassed $300 million in private fundraising for the first time in the institution’s history thanks to the generosity of more than 72,400 donors. This milestone caps a remarkable period of support, with the University’s three-year rolling average for fundraising—a key indicator of a positive culture of giving—now standing at a record-high $272.8 million.
Because of our dedicated supporters, UGA made significant progress on several important initiatives. The $100 million Medical Education and Research Building was fully funded through a combination of state and private support less than a year after the School of Medicine was announced. During the fall, UGA established its 1,000th need-based scholarship, and the total number of endowed chairs and professorships has increased to 391. We also celebrated transformational gifts through naming ceremonies for the C. Herman Terry Risk Management and Insurance Program, the Benson-Bertsch Center for International Trade and Security, the Layton Design Studio, and the M. Douglas and V. Kay Ivester Institute for Business Analytics and Insights.
The positive impact of this record-setting year of philanthropy will be felt for generations to come as the University of Georgia continues to reach even greater heights of excellence. I am incredibly grateful for the tireless work of our development and alumni relations staff, the outstanding leadership of the UGA Foundation Board of Trustees, and the steadfast support of our loyal alumni and friends.
