At the University of Georgia, we are working every day to shape the future of our world. We are helping our students learn and succeed at the highest levels, creating jobs and training leaders, driving innovation and discovery, and solving problems for Georgia and beyond.

There is much to be excited about as the new academic year begins. Our new Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, Dr. S. Jack Hu, has arrived. Vibrant new instructional spaces are opening in the final phase of the Business Learning Center, as well as new labs in the Driftmier Engineering Building. The impressive Interdisciplinary STEM Research Building is under construction, and Brumby Hall is undergoing a major renovation.

In addition, we welcome the arrival of around 300 new faculty scholars and 5,500 first-year students—the members of UGA’s Class of 2023. We have created new academic programs and funded scholarships to enhance the impact of the overall student learning experience. Many of these new programs are supported by the Commit to Georgia campaign, which is entering its final year.

I invite you to watch this short video, which commemorates this very special time at the University of Georgia. I look forward to all that our campus community will achieve together in the year ahead.
