Once again, UGA donors have demonstrated their extraordinary commitment to amplifying the positive impact of our faculty, staff, and students on the world. In fiscal year 2019, donors contributed $224 million in new gifts and pledges to increase scholarship support for students, enhance the learning environment, and solve grand challenges through research and service.

FY19 marks the third consecutive year in which fundraising has surpassed $200 million. In addition, our generous donors drove the Commit to Georgia campaign beyond two major goals in FY19—raising $1.2 billion and creating at least 400 Georgia Commitment Scholarships by the campaign’s conclusion on June 30, 2020.

I want to offer my thanks and appreciation to each and every donor for helping us achieve these important goals that have advanced the University. Because of their incredible generosity, we are reaching exciting, unprecedented heights across all aspects of our mission.

Our alumni and friends are creating a culture of philanthropy at UGA that is helping to elevate the trajectory of this institution. Our five-year rolling fundraising average has risen every year of the campaign, and in FY19, it reached $204 million—an increase of more than 77 percent from five years ago.

I look forward to seeing how far we will continue to exceed expectations for the Commit to Georgia campaign with the help of our exceptional UGA family.
