Throughout its century-long history, UGA’s Tifton campus has exemplified the University’s commitment to our land-grant mission. Teaching, research, service, and extension programs at UGA Tifton are preparing the next generation of leaders in agriculture and helping our state’s number one industry to thrive.
Earlier this year, local, state, and University leaders gathered in Tifton to rededicate the historic Agricultural Research Building. Renovated to provide state-of-the-art spaces for research and education, the Agricultural Research Building is one of several capital projects in recent years—including the renovated H.H. Tift Building and purpose-built turfgrass research and education facilities—that are contributing to the vital work of faculty, staff, and students at UGA Tifton. The University also has added new agricultural research faculty members and UGA Extension agents to help solve some of the industry’s most urgent challenges and communicate best practices to farmers and agribusinesses throughout rural Georgia.
As our Tifton campus embarks on its next one hundred years, we look forward to continuing our work with the strong agriculture community in this region to ensure a stable and profitable supply of food and agricultural commodities for Georgia and beyond.
