Rose Bowl celebration

On New Year’s Day, the Georgia Bulldogs returned, after 75 years, to the legendary Rose Bowl Game, earning an exciting win over the Oklahoma Sooners and advancing to the college football national championship for the first time in the playoff era. I am proud of our student-athletes and our coaching staff for this significant achievement, and I am grateful to the tens of thousands of alumni and fans who traveled to Pasadena to support our team. It was an historic moment for the football program—a game for the ages and one that brought much national attention to the University of Georgia.

The University wishes the team the very best as it prepares for its next challenge, facing the University of Alabama in the national championship game on January 8 in Atlanta. I look forward to joining the entire Bulldog Nation to cheer on the Dawgs as they compete for college football’s top prize.
